Product Improvements on GetJar for March 2010
Just wanted to let you know of a couple of changes we’re making at GetJar that we think you’ll find of interest. Be sure to let us know if you have any feedback.
1.Listing Description. The listings on the mobile and web sites now have their own separate text. The listing is the text next to the icon in the lists of apps on our sites, including top apps, categories, and search. So you can try different text in your listings, to see which works best in driving consumers to your product page.
2.Mobile Description. Mobile product page descriptions are now 250 characters long, up from 100 to give you more space to describe your app or mobile site.
3.Top Apps. Check out http://developer.getjar.com/topapps/ to see who is doing best in your category!
4.Unsupported phones. We can now make phones unsupported and show a message to users that certain phones won’t work on GetJar. We’ve started adding some phones to this list, such as many Verizon Brew phones.
5.Network Targeting. We can enable network targeting for any account, upon request. This allows you to target your app at specific countries or carriers, or target your PPD ads at specific countries or carriers. Over the next few weeks we’ll be automating this process so you will be able to select this from your own account directly without having to request it from us.
Thanks again and have a great weekend!
